Quality of our Knowledge:  The team at PureVMI have spent many years developing, implementing and managing VMI systems in the UK, Germany, Spain and Australia.   We have extensive knowledge of the business processes and technical requirements of operating in these territories.   We have worked on VMI solutions in the Entertainment industry for a combined 15 years, and have extensive retail, distribution and logistics business knowledge prior to that.

We have experience of Business Specification and Analysis, Technical and Database design, Programming, EDI, Operations and Communications.   The team  possesses all the knowledge needed to Project Manage, Design, Build, Test, Document, Implement and Operate the system.

The team have a total of 60 years experience in the computer industry, and a total of 25 years business knowledge in replenishment, retail, distribution & logistics.     All the expertise required to implement & support a VMI operation is in our team.  Apart from the initial setting up the interfaces to your system,  there will be no need to allocate a permanent IT resource from your in-house team to maintain or manage the VMI process.

Quality of Hardware:
We have chosen AS/400 server technology because both the hardware & operating system (OS/400) have proven to be robust and requires little operational intervention.    The PureVMI team have the expertise to develop systems, manage communications and operations on this platform.

Quality of Software/Database Design:  The system and database will be IBM AS/400 based.  Programs are written in RPG4 and CLP using a top down structured methodology.  The structure of the programs allows other technologies (like GUI interfaces, or C++ programs)   to be incorporated later, if required.

The database is structured to allow multiple studios and territories to be easily added so that common facilities (like Order Consolidation) are immediately available.  New clients (studios) can be added without having to create a new or separate database.   Detail & Summary historical data will always reconcile, and can be rebuilt to reflect a Genre/Item or Retailer hierarchical structure change.

Flexible inbound interfaces can accept transactions (sales, deliveries, returns, adjustments), store orders, planograms,  stock counts, and  Store and Item information from whichever source (i.e. EDI, Excel, CSV and flat files)  using any method (VAN, FTP, e-mail, offline media).   If required, EDI mapping expertise in all Standards (EDIFACT, TRADACOMS and  ANSI) is available and we have experience of Gentran, TrustedLink400 and Intercept 400 mapping software.   A high degree of automation makes the system simple and cost effective to run.

User Interface:   Although the system is AS/400 based, key screens can be accessible via a web browser and have the feel of a PC (GUI) based application.  Logos can be added to the screens to give a professional corporate feel to the system.     Optionally, all screens that a Client might see can include GUI technology.  Examples are the Order Approval, Customer Service and Manual Order Entry screens.
